    My goodness.
I cannot believe this topic lasted 10 pages.
No matter how much you guys argue, there's no real proof
to explain your religion is true.

All there is, is just theories.
I dislike it when someone makes a RELIGION thread
because then you get members all fired up, reading and discussing their religion and trying to convert people.
    ...

    Over the internet.
    Yeah..
I'm just gonna see how long this topic lasts.
    Maybe another ten pages?
    Hm.

" can tell you one thing for damn sure- I do believe there is a God and there is a Heaven and there is a Hell, and depending on how you've lived your life you will end up in either place."

Why? Why do you believe this? Have you ever thought about why people [humans] tend to believe in deities? Perhaps there is some sort of imbalance in the human brain that causes "belief". Think about it, most humans "believe" in something, but it is only those that overcome their craving for belief that achieve true enlightenment. Throughout history people have believed in spirits, Gods etc. I believe everyone wants to believe in something because their brain dictates this to them. Therefore there are people that fill this belief gap with a "God" (Whichever it may be) and some simply ignore it. I haven't looked into the Psychological side of religion, but I will by the end of the year and I hope to enlighten you when I know more.

And here is another question: If "God" , Heaven and Hell really existed, would "God" want people in Heaven that truly believed in him or would he accept those that just said they believed in him in order to get into heaven?

Ever wonder why heaven and hell aren't explicitly mentioned in the Bible? Because they weren't in the original religion, the concept of heaven and hell wasn't even around when the scholars were writing the multiple adaptations of the Bible. It was concocted by the Catholic Church in the middle ages, either out of a fear of death (people didn't live long) or to keep peasants in their place. Do as we say, or go to hell. As it were.

EDIT: I'm as surprised as you are HMGURL, although they've all behaved so I guess they deserve a cookie. Nice avatar btw .

Well, I have to start this out by congratulating Jackel with his post of wisdom.

Pride is one of Satan's best tricks. Why risk eternal damnnation...for you pride. Just believe and if God isn't there...then oh well. If He is there and you refuse to beleive AFTER you heard the facts...hell forever.

I would never take that risk, and I sometimes wonder why others do.

"So are these aliens superior to us, are they animals, if God is an alien, what would his (its) interests be in "creating" the Earth, are we just some intergalactic experiment then? I though people that believed in God believe that they are the children of a Deity that watches over them and cares?"

We are God's children. Possibly along with other species out there in the galaxy. Seems kind of weird to make such a big galaxy with only one specie. Or maybe God just created other habitual planents that Man will one day live on...

And who knows what these aliens are...if they even exist...it's just a personal hunch for me.

"Not many people believe in unstoppable forces, I don't believe in unstoppable forces until they are proven to me, in the same way I don't believe in God until someone proves he exists."

Errr, that was an example...I don't think there is such a thing either.

"Pursue faith if you must, but in my opinion why waste your time?"

    Why take the risk?

Eternity Life > life on earth

Just grasp the concept of 'eternity...' never ending...forever...not stopping...would you rather spend that time in paradise or hell?

    "Prove your existence of course."

Would you come down in a loud voice and say, 'I AM HERE!" Or would you create many unexplainable miracles? Like God already did.

You have to look in between the lines. God isn't going to do the first example...

"I believe everyone wants to believe in something because their brain dictates this to them."

Ok...there is some truth to that...but are you going to give the 'brain' the credit for giving humans the hint to want to worship something?

Or God? Who gave man a purpose and set them above from the barbaric animals. Who loves us and wants to share eternal paradise with us?

"And here is another question: If "God" , Heaven and Hell really existed, would "God" want people in Heaven that truly believed in him or would he accept those that just said they believed in him in order to get into heaven?"

Those who truly believe in Him. Those who just 'say' they believe in Him to get into heaven...really don't. And God knows that.

Drugs, I'll get back to you on the Bible thingy after a little research and school.

What a pity, I'd almost believe him if he did.

"Those who truly believe in Him. Those who just 'say' they believe in Him to get into heaven...really don't. And God knows that."

Then why do people try to convince sceptics to believe in God?

Which God? Does this prove a Christian God? Does it prove heaven and Hell? Does it prove any of your beliefs? It may prove to you (I'm still sceptic) that there is a divine being, but is this really what you are praying to?
