Yes, when I post the Link that is referring to the very latest version of Ewiger Krieg. Also, they are "date stamped" so that you can look at whatever version you have, and by the date you can determine which is newer since version numbers are tiresome and perhaps could -theoretically- lead to some possible incompatibility issues with save games.

The link itself is always the same because that's the URL for the Ewiger Krieg "project" rather than any specific version of it, so you can click on it at any time and go right back to the project and it will always display the very latest version since I purposely cull older versions.

As always, you're all very welcome for the update and I'm happy to help

Actually i checked the date, but after that i posted my question! so thanks anyway and i was really looking for this unit.
Now i've got a question,i've downloaded an audio player software for playing audio file of the game(CoH:OF) and i noticed that all of the Wehrmacht unit audios are present and playable,which actually i thought that they are not existed in this CD at all.
Since they are present in the game can you manage to extract them or in anyway use them in your mod and give voices to the Wehrmacht units ?

By the way i got the software from the relic forum you told me!


And i'm saying it not to flatter myself but Ewiger Krieg with no doubt is a high ranking Mod which has been made for the game but the reason that i am greatly thankful is that you the writter of the mod,is putting time and paying attention to ones are using.And i admire your sense responsibility and of course your friendship.

I rest my case !!!!

Well yes, within Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts is the entire database for both the original game and of course those in Opposing Fronts, and of course so are their sound files.

There is a catch however, because of how I basically unlocked the units for a faction that didn't originally have them, like giving Wehrmacht units to Panzer Elite, their respective sound files often don't sync-up quite right because the game winds up trying to look for files in a place that they aren't, however they can be replicated and/or re-assigned to the versions of those units being used by another faction. Unfortunately, that is also a lot of files and thus cumulatively a pretty large bundle of files to host for upload/download.

If you want to explore the possibility of matching up the units with their respective sound files on your own, you're welcome to it, but unfortunately practicalities simply impair any mass release.

At first i suspected the matter, Because the path that engine is looking for a random sync. audio file capture is totally different
and the path which contains the Wehrmacht files are locked some how till the Normandy mission unlocks and when playing as skirmish the sound audios will be recog. by the engine through the new path.But the reason i needed your opinion was, according to your obvious experience i thought you might be able to manage but since its tiresome then the case is closed.

Hmmm, I hadn't considered that they would be locked by the original COH game key, however I'm also 99.9% sure that isn't the case anyway, otherwise the units themselves would be comparably locked you see, and I made Ewiger Krieg long before I got my original COH.

What it would require is the extraction, copying, and reassignment of every relevant sound file that is currently not working as desired. Given the number of units multiplied by the number of sounds, that quickly adds up to a lot both in terms of memory and leg-work.

It's really not even the amount of work that's an issue to me, as much as the difficulty the vastly ballooning memory space would cause on uploading new versions, for the users to download, and of course for any file host to be willing to put up with for free. Those three problems conspire together to pour a bit of cold water on the possibilities.

Well i think among those three cooling problems, the difficulty for downloading the written file i think is the bigger challenge
be cause even if someone get the job done but doesn't receive support from the users and low rate of downloads would be freezing
cold ice water not just on the possibilities but on the possible Modder!

So i think after the Sturmtroopers there is nothing left to be done for the unit unlocking process. Maybe you could put some skin links on this page for users, but of course if it's not an violation Mr.Wizard.

Well, the skins shouldn't be a problem, but I also can't in good conscience more or less "adopt" the product of another modder's work and pretty much point people at a given skin pack and say that it goes hand in hand with Ewiger Krieg.

My recommendation(s) however ( ) are readily available through RelicNews message board.

I've found the skins in Kompendium Mod to be extremely well done, and many German tanks even have zimmerit (waffle/wavy texture on armor) both on the skin and the alpha map. The models for some of the German tanks have skirt damage or even segments "missing" (just made invisible through alpha) which sometimes I like and sometimes I don't, so swap out for models you like if a well used tank appearance doesn't suit you.

Also, there is othermodalternative, which has some very good skins and I tend to mix them in with Kompendium for just the right flavor I'm looking for.

All in all, you're going to have to do a little leg work on your own though to find the skins you want/like for the vehicles you want to change.
