I have a question. what's with the numbers after the topic names? i know what they do, and enjoy that they're there, but am wondering why and when they got there...

I am not quite sure when they got there as I have not been on for quite some time. But, if you know what they do...as you say you do, then you shouldn't need to ask that question.
As for other members who do not know what they are and why they are there, then I will answer. The numbers are the page numbers for that specefic thread it is affiliated with. In having the page numbers there, it makes it easier for every member on the site to navigate throughout the site and go to certain pages on a thread. Hope that that has answered your question.
As for the other question about my topic "Complaints..."I know that Neo explained it, but it doesn't really look like he said whether you can defend yourself on the topic or in a pm. I would say that he is absolutely right. Once the complaint is placed on the thread, then it is between the administraters and the person who is being complained about. So it is preferrable that you "Defend" yourself in a pm rather than on the thread.
