For me, as I said before, everything was working flawlessly without issue before my PC did an update. Which means I was doing everything correctly to ensure it worked as it should. That is why I asked if anyone else had recently encountered the same issue with the trainer crashing the game upon activation. That would tell me if it was something on my end or if FromSoftware sneaked in another update that caused the problem.
So far we have not had any reports of there being a game patch or change since release or that the trainer is now crashing for the thousands of people currently using it. However, there are now TWO versions of the trainer, the original and V2. See if you get the same result from both.
I have tried both versions of the trainer, got the same result. Even verified my game files and reapplied the .exe. However, I just uninstalled and reinstalled the game and will see if maybe that does the trick.
Do you know if changing the last four digits in the deploymentid of the settings.json file should be changed to "0000" since we're using the replacement .exe file?
Edit: Do the two different versions of the trainer have different "start_protected_game.exe" files?

I do not believe the add-on file is different between the two trainers.
I may be just misinformed so came here to ask as I want to use the trainer. Just want to know if I can play the singleplayer game online (connected to the internet). Apologies if my questions are a bit basic, I'm unaware of some situations, that's it.
Hi Prince52,
If you want to use the trainer you won't be able to login or play online
