For me, as I said before, everything was working flawlessly without issue before my PC did an update. Which means I was doing everything correctly to ensure it worked as it should. That is why I asked if anyone else had recently encountered the same issue with the trainer crashing the game upon activation. That would tell me if it was something on my end or if FromSoftware sneaked in another update that caused the problem.
So far we have not had any reports of there being a game patch or change since release or that the trainer is now crashing for the thousands of people currently using it. However, there are now TWO versions of the trainer, the original and V2. See if you get the same result from both.
When i tried to download the start_protected_game.rar from your attachment, there's no .rar file at all. Please advise, thank you.
If you're using aurora, when you click the "start_protected_game.rar" at the top, it'll open a window where you want to save it, so just click save when you're in the folder you want it to be. after that, when you click "open" next to the start protected game rar button, it'll open the rar with the file inside it.
thanks for your response, i tried the same steps as you had explained, but for some unknown reason, after trying to extract the.rar file, there's no file to extract from there, it just disappeared. Hopefully there's a way to retify this issue.
It sounds like your AV/security software is deleting/blocking the file.

So I just saw that there's an anti-cheat protection on Steam. I'd like to know if using this trainer will get my profile a red flag like a VAC ban or anything? I won't be using this for multiplayer, only for my single player playthrough.
Absolutely no way for us to know this information. You would likely have to email Valve and ask them directly.
