Its bootleg and buggy. I am really surprised its being advertised so heavily.

I have used it successfully with elden ring so far.

It crashes the deck forcing auto reboots, launching is a bit of a dice roll on whether you will get a reboot.

I use desktop mode to get it setup (pointing to the tinker launch, and doing the wine3d checkbox)

Like you, nothing is clickable after that in desktop mode. However gaming mode will let you click to login usually. Sometimes it wont and you just have to hard reboot and try again.

Once you can get auto login working and flip wine3d back off, desktop mode still doesnt allow clicking for me, but game mode does usually.

It can take upwards of 20 minutes of rebooting because of unclickable interface, and crash/reboots to get a session going. Another tip is to go slow when launching, and sometimes just wait up to a minute for clicking on aurora to work, and make sure you are closing all the error prompts that pop up as part of the process.

Looking forward to a proper version, but I spend about as much time trying to get it to work as i do playing and i dread trying another game with the current workflow.

If you want a "proper version" then you will have to talk to Valve.

i feel like the tutorial didnt really explain it properly... but remembering that this is linux and with steam games, you gotta do some steps to make it work.

    IN DESKTOP MODE
    1. download ProtonUp-Qt
    2. install steamtinker and whatever protonge thats recommended for your game through protondb.
    3. download aurora and unpack it.
    4. run the game for the first time without changing anything, it needs to copy over all the emulation files to make it work on linux.
    5. close the game after you made sure that it works on itsown, then go to the game's properties on steam, compatibility and change it to steamtinker, while at it, disable steam overlay for the game.
    6. launch the game and open the steamtinker gamemenu, check "use custom command", then pick the aurora.exe file, UNcheck "fork custom command", if "fork custom command" is checked, it will disable all input while in desktop mode. scroll down and check "proton use wined3d".
    7. select "save and play"
    8. aurora will open, enter your login, check the save password.
    9. an error message will open, you can ignore it, just close it.
    10. click on your portrait, open "misc" and enable "auto login", disable "enable hardware acceleration (rendering)".
    11. close aurora after making your adjustments, the game will open afterwards with input enabled, close it.
    12. relaunch the game through steam and open the gamemenu through steamtinker.
    13. check "fork custom command" and uncheck "proton use wined3d". then you have the option to select the proton version that your game supports properly, at least according to protondb. once you're done, hit "save and play".
    14. the game and aurora should be launching at the same time, or with a delay between them, making sure that aurora logs in automatically, just force quit both and ignore the steamtinker message that shows up for closing the game too quickly.

    GAME SCOPE MODE
    1. launch the game you've adjusted
    2. using the steam button, you can swap between windows, and input on aurora is through touch, and steam button + X (to open the keyboard).

this worked for me every time, so i hope this helps people.
by the way, you do have to repeat this process for every game.

I've noticed a few people having the same problem I've been having, except no one seems to have an answer for it. I've followed all of the steps to a T. Everything loads and logs in fine, but when I open my game, the Aurora is unclickable in game mode, it just starts interacting with the game while Aurora is displayed over everything. Hopefully someone has a workaround for this.

I had the same problem. The solution was to activate developer mode. I didn't have to do anything in the developer mode, just turning it on was enough.

That wasn't in the video or written instructions, so don't feel bad that you missed it.

Someone earlier mentioned disabling Steam overlay too, but I don't recall having to do that.

I completely forgot to mention that....I did BOTH of those things. Maybe its because Yakuza 0 loads a native controller profile? At this point i'm trying everything lol

I have followed these steps up to login to aurora, but I cannot login as the keypad won't let me input any letters and keeps disappearing and reappearing, what am I missing?
