Any chance of a few update for Steam Deck users that might be useful?
- Could you add the ability to have it auto-login if your details are saved? Would save one additional step that might trip up some games which have their own launchers.
- Could HW Acceleration be disabled by default? If not in the official version for windows then perhaps in a 'Steam Deck' version? Same for the process watcher setting. Would make this super easy for people (no need for the Wine or Aurora setup step).
Out of interest why does the setup need to be done for each game? It's like each game gets its own saved version of Aurora it needs to setup, save the trainer ect. Just wondering.
There is no "Aurora for Steam Deck". Users found a way to make the existing app work and so we combined their tips and tricks and made an instructional video. As of RIGHT NOW, there are no plans to add Steam Deck related options or features into Aurora. Perhaps down the line.
I have the latest stable build and latest Tinker launch, followed the steps provided in the video and what I'm getting (only trying with midnight suns) is the trainer launches first always, works fine, but the only way to get the game to start is to close it.
There's no option to swap between aurora and the game. Did I miss something?
Yes by your post you missed a lot.
Please describe your steps exactly what you did and by order.
Installed tinker launcher
Downloaded and extracted the archive for Aurora
Installed proton-qt
Restarted in game mode, edited game not to use steam overlay, to use steam tinker launcher, and enabled developer mode.
Started the game, in game menu setup as described in video, directed to aurora exe and enabled wine
Closed the game, logged into aurora and turned off hardware accel, process tracker, and turned down the volume.
Closed it down again, turned off wine in game menu, started game again.
I get aurora starting but the game doesn't until I click the x on aurora to close it.
I've tried setting the have to borderless window mode and tried again.
It's never brought up an option to change between program and game when pressing the steam button no matter how long I wait.
Edit: to clarify I installed qt and tinker from the app store on the deck if thats a factor.

Did you also check the option in tinker game menu that says: "Fork custom command"?

Yes I did. Worth noting, if there's a v3 video, that adding the steps of installing steam tinker launcher and the ticking fork custom command would be recommended.
I also tried erasing the proton files from the menu and repeating the steps, that didn't work. Also noticed I can't enable the steam overlay again after. Not sure if any of this helps but mentioning it in case.
