gamebooster is nice...and works as advertised.....
but....it doesn't disable to vast majority of unnessecary services and apps...
my recommendation is to run a google search on any app or services that game booster doesn't disable, and if you dont needed it to disable it manually...remembering what you disabled so you can renable it if it turns out you need it, this includes said tablet pc service and a large number of other things....like BITS (which screws up large file downloads for impulse and ea download manager)
when i first installed vista ultimate 32bit i had like 80 processes running...and promptly disabled 20 of them before getting to the nitty gritty and picking and choosing, some services do the same thing, other services aren't needed if you use certain 3rd party software
BITS is a good example, if you use a download manager BITS isn't needed at all and can make things worse
windows defender and firewall are other good examples
wundows update and windows security center both are useful, but unneeded - the list goes on and on
also all the remote access services...gah i hate those - they are rampant security leaks
yea...u're right. Game Booster dis-ables a lot of apps..but leaves several running. but it is still a step in the right direction. if using Vista..please turn off Windows Defender...it really slows the system down. booting takes..like forever. u most certainly don't need ur firewall running while playing a game. best solution for most gamers..keep 2 separate systems..a mini laptop for work and net access and a gaming PC for games..and keep ur gaming pc thread bare..just the bare essentials. trust me..u'll be very happy.
