Halo 3: ODST Message Board  

Can someone tell me why on Earth (pun intended) there are no Elites in ODST? As far as I can tell, it's set to coincide with Halo 2 at a point before the Covenant civil war. Why can't we battle Elites who were by far the most amazing Covenant opponents?

well now bare with me the odst were suppost to take out high profile things you know the usual Batterys leaders and the only way to guard these were cannon fodder and brutes the smaller ones were supposed to take the hits while the bigger ones like the hunters dish out damage by this time the covenant civil war was already in deep

I'm not happy about it either, but Bungie stated that the Brutes were left behind on Earth because the Elites (the then-main soldiers) were moved to Installation 05 when Regret jumped his carrier. Brutes weren't main soldiers, therefore left behind for later pick-up.

We're drifting off topic, but I'll rise to your argument.
How do you know it is going to "fail"? Bungie hasn't said or released anything about Halo: Reach except for the E3 2009 Teaser Trailer. So you can't say anything unless you're basing your argument off of the said trailer, and that only shows a cinematic, no gameplay.
