    guys, resolution ghanging only helps when your console works, but you cant see it becouse of wrong resolution.

    dunno why, but on my PC and on my MacBook Pro console works perfectly. on both I got vista ultimate (2nd system on Mac).

    I remember the same problem with Oblivion, maybe you should try searhing solution there
    I am the damaged one...

    Meh, I think my problem is none of the above, mine is simply, Irish machine, using Norwegian keyboard outlay, to get tilde ~, I need to press both ctrl + alt + another key, and when attempting to do so of course nothing happens.

    I even tried downloading a virtual keyboard for key mapping, but alas, I can press until I turn blue and nothing will happen.

    firsly for me i have not ahd any issues accessing the console with the ` tilde key.
    but for everyone else when you press the tilde key dont expect any console to appear in a window like morrowind or drop down like the debug consoles in FPS games.

    Just type the command in after you pressed the tilde key and then enter.

    The only issue i have had with the console how much i see of the output text when i enter a command.

    Since the game has an issue with 4:3 or 5:4 ratio resolutions as well as the 16:9 and 16:11 widescreen

    for me on 1280x1024 i loose half the console text in the lower left corner

    putting the resolution onto 1024x768 and i get the full console

    dont ask me why the image some how is overstreched even though 1280x1024 is my maximum resolution for my monitor .

    I still can't get the console to work.

    I'm using Windows XP Pro, no IR device in device manager, basic keyboard being used (UK) with the right 'tilde' key being pressed (next to 1 top left) as well as trying others!

    Does anyone have ANYTHING else I can try? I've tried changing resolution and aspect.

    I've been frustrated by same thing last few days... *JUST FIGURED OUT A NEW SOLUTION !* that works for me...

    Resolution changes DID NOT WORK
    No IR device, that wasn't a problem

    So, I happened to notice that my keyboard was disabled because I've been using my 360pc controller... When that is on, it completely disabled the keyboard... Check to see if that's the case for you (may include other gamepads).

    I simply went into settings and disabled the controller, then the keyboard worked, then the console worked.

    Hope this helps a few of you !

    To make the the console visible in XP in 1280x1024:

    Go to your Fallout.ini in My Documents\My Games\Fallout 3

    Under the [Menu] heading, make the following changes:
    iConsoleTextYPos=940
    iConsoleTextXPos=200

    Then, make the same changes in FalloutPrefs.ini (Just to be safe).

    Bam, easily visible console.

    Been doing this for days, never got around to verifying my account to post it. Sorry.

    I got the console to work after I uninstald the IR drivers.
    But I got another problem.
    I have to restart my PC fore it to work, and when it resets it reinsals the drivers automaticly without any chanse to stop it.
    So i get ca.1-2min in the game to use the console, before I have to uninstall and reset again.

    Can anyone tel me how to stop it fro reinstaling?
