still when i do change iConsoleTextXPos=200 it wont show..

same problem, win vista 32 italian, i've tried to change resolution, ext but nothing...

i'm on vista 32 and I can't seem to find IR. I look under my device manager under my HIDs and nothing is there under the name infrared receivers.

This problem exists with many people with many different configurations. One thing that I have researched was when I would go into Settings -> Controls -> Action Mapping to bind the Tilde(~)to an action, it would be listed as "148".

When I had a friend, whose console works, try the same thing, a message popped up saying he could not bind that key. I have Vista Premium 32-bit and he has Vista Ultimate 64-bit, so I am not sure what the discrepancy is.

So I think it is a problem with something changing the code that is output to represent the Tilde to something the Fallout engine cannot recognize.

As a side note, I can open the console in all Source Games such as Half Life 2, Team Fortress 2, Portal, ect.

where on my pc can i find them drivers? i cant find what u said in the post when i search

i found a little something called Human Interface Device Access in the Systemconfiguration but it dont tell where it is laying, can u give a more exact location of it?

i found out what ur problem is
in ur Human Interface Device Access there are 4 columns u can go on, General, Log on, (i dunno what the name is in english) and directly translated: Addictions....
anyways, in the column (i dunno what name is in english) right of Log On there is something that says Start Service again after: and it is automaticly set to 2 mins, what u do is change it to 100000000000 mins or just deactivate first, second mistake
u can just deactivate the whole thing
