I have played neither, but as far as I can see the PS3 is a much wiser investment.

No doubt the 360 is good, its just no quite as good.

The reason for the lack of games for the PS3 is simple, the 360 got released first, and the game makers wanted their money sooner rather than later. Too bad microsoft didnt make the damn things work in the first place, and thousands had to be returned, nice one.

The PS3 has higher potential for more freedom in gaming, and once game makers click on then it'll gain more popularity.

At the moment the 360 has the upper hand, but the PS3 will come out on top in the end, and more than likely microsoft will have to release a newer console or upgrade the 360 to keep up.

Now I dont have any links to web pages with other peoples opinions that I could pass off as proof, but one of my colleagues was a sales rep for Sony and knew the ins and outs of both the PS3 and the 360 and he explained both to me in clear cut terms. (no he wasnt biased, and even owns a 360 himself)

Home, GT5 and Haze may boost the PS3, as well as a properly functioning PSN, but other than that I'm not sure as to how the PS3 will prove to be the better investment. If there are any things that you know that I know not of the PS3, please share so I can assess and re-evaluate my opinion.

I don't ask for facts and links, I'll take your word for it. I'm intruiged as to why you think the PS3 will be the better choice. Game developers may click for the PS3 soon enough, but they've already been clicking for the 360 for years.

The games released in the long run will be better, as the developers will have more room to work with, and less restrictions. Yea, the 360 has a lot of space, but the PS3 has more. I'm not a technical speaking person, so I cant explain exactly how even though it was spelled out to me lol

Thats reason enough for me. The graphics is no matter for my gaming experience, I still get loads of fun out of my SEGA Mega Drive 2.

Microsoft is notorious for taking short cuts and such, just look at windows Vista, prime example of rushed and ruined software.
I just dont trust microsoft with my money any more

The issue of trust boils down to the individual, and not necessarily everyone. That said, so does your opinion...

With Blu-Ray, I agree the PS3 games in the future may be a formidable contender, thanks to the free reign of increased space, and I believe that GT5 is the first to take advantage of this reign. However, like you said, Microsoft will have to release a new console in order to catch up, but IMO by the time that happens there already will be a new console out. The PS3 is only a year and half years old, whereas the 360 is nearly 3 years old. Come 2010, when the PS3 may well be dominant, Microsoft would have re-invented the Xbox, not to compete with the PS3, but to expand gaming into the eight generation.
