When you poison your weapon the poison banishes after the first hit(the first time you hit your enemy).

But you constantly must put the poison on your weapon and enought with the glitches.

not until it wears off plus it is worth it to get one of the best swords in the game

no, you can only use poison once, put it on the blade, mace, watever, and attack, the poison is gone reapply or forget about it
the best sword in the game, and umbra is easy to beat with good strategy, not including constantly using poisons, i beat her with just a normal blade, at lvl 16 with no poisons

Well with a sword with fire/frost/shock dmg you can harm her even when she is blocking.
