I did not find anything concerning this bug on google besides cheat happens thread. Which was not a coincidence, the trainer is the thing blocking advancing the quest.

Even with all the options disabled. You must launch the game without injecting the trainer complete the mission, then go back and enable trainer after saving.

I have no idea how just activating the trainer would do this, but if you found a way to get past your issue, then great!

i had the same issue with that particular quest, im not sure what it was either, but i had to do the quest without the trainer running in the background, i was able to complete the quest then activate the trainer, no issues since.

so there is something in the game that the trainer is getting hooked up on and not allowing it to complete. have to do the memory painting then activate the traier after its done

It might be the trainer, but I got past this part by deleting the cache folder in the ubisoft app folder. Luckily I didn't have to restart the entire game.

Emptying the cache of Ubisoft Connect PC

The Ubisoft Connect PC cache folder stores frequently used data to help the desktop application access it quicker.

Emptying the cache of Ubisoft Connect PC can help resolve some technical issues.

To empty the Ubisoft Connect PC cache:

• Close Ubisoft Connect PC completely.

• Go to the Ubisoft Connect PC installation location.

By default, you can find the installation files under: C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher

• Right-click on the cache folder and rename it to something else, such as "cache_backup".

• Restart Ubisoft Connect PC.

A new, empty cache folder will be created.

Had the same issue with weeping gorge even made another save and got stuck same place did the memory painting with out trainer active at all and it completed the quest no problem, so game has some issue it seems with that specific quest "marker" it seems for some of us, not a big problem once you know what to do thankfully.

I am an old gamer and i need my trainers to help me complete them these days so i have started to look at what trainer options i have for my games and Cheat happens tend to not disappoint so thank you for the game enjoyment i can still have.

So have done the same - new save, tried Weeping Gorge without trainer active (even did the quest before (Lodge) without) but no luck on my end. 🙁
