It's unfortunate they included all the anti-cheat crap in this game. No other platforms beyond Steam are possible.
Are you saying that the Steam version does not have the Anti-Cheat mechanism and that's why there is a trainer from Steam and not for any other platform?
I tried to request a trainer for GamePass but it was declined/rejected 😞😭
Here's the problem in a nutshell.
1 game has anticheat thread that gets created almost instantly when the game is launched. It detects many things, but basically this thread runs along side your game and uses up CPU cycles and crashes the game if it detects something, like coding changes to the game in memory, etc.
2 the .dll is loaded into memory, if its used, when the game calls for that .dll to be loaded into memory. It's named the same as the actual authentic directx .dll that is SUPPOSED to be loaded. This other .dll is basically getting loaded BEFORE the code that starts the anti cheat thread starts and it prevents that thread from starting or closes it. Whether or not it loads the directx file it's replaceing after that I have no idea. In fact I have no idea what else it does, because it's not coded by us, it's not from a legit game trainer source, and it could be doing 100 other things, like mining for bitcoin in the background. WHO KNOWS. It's your computer and your fault if you paste things like that and let them work on your computer.
3 our method stops the thread from starting in a different way, which we wont get into here, but doesn't disrupt ANY DRM, or block or modify ANY STEAM, DRM, or DIRECTX files.
4 BOTH the .dll or OUR METHOD require that you can place a file into the game directory. For STEAM, this is not an issue because the steam game folders are easily and readily accessed with no problems.
5 For GAMEPASS and WINDOWS STORE apps and games, they are placed in LOCKED FOLDERS that have special permissions, due to the fact these are linked to your Microsoft account and the DRM and the ability to play 'free' all the Gamepass files are part of Microsoft own scheme, and in fact you aren't supposed to be able to get to these files. They are placed in protected folders. SURE, you can use methods and ways to unprotect them, but don't be surprised if you do it wrong, or mess something up, or after an update or patch, that your changing these permissions has caused unfixable problems. You can literally have a brick computer in terms of not being able to access the apps, the store, or xbox, etc. and will need to literally install from scratch.
6 So for games like that where you HAVE to have a file in the folder to launch the game, WE aren't going to be supporting that or trying to provide support for you to experiment and blow up your Windows Store folders. We would have endless postings here, from people who just don't get it, or did the wrong thing, and now blaming us for their bricked computer.
7 We aren't using .dll method in this case, ESPECIALLY IN THE WINDOWS FOLDER, since it's faking to be an actual WINDOWS SYSTEM DIRECTX FILE, and doing so in protected WINDOWS STORE FOLDER. This just isn't something we are going to do.
I hope this helps explain. Gamepass and Windows Store games are different, in many ways, launched from protected folders, and often a pain in the A to work with or make normal trainers for that don't have anticheats, so you can imagine the annoyance of them in special cases.. like this one.

Hi Cal,
Thank you very much for the detailed explanation for everyone to read and understand.
Just wanted to add something in reference to points 5 & 6. Microsoft has now made it so that the game files and directories are easily accessible and viewable like normal folders, and not that previous nonsense where users couldn't officially access them. Any user is able to access the game folders, similar to Steam installs etc. I am not sure if this information helps in creating a potential launcher being made for Game Pass versions of this game (and others that require a launcher). I am sure there are other factors at play that could potentially prevent a successful trainer being made.
I was just adding this in case this was the only reason holding you guys back. Either way, great job as always on everything you and the team do!
Have a good day.
how so. Where is your game files for Gamepass for this game stored?

After seeing the reply with Microsoft allowing us to access game folders, I checked my SSD, and I found all my gamepass games in X:\Xbox Games
"X" being my C, D, or E drive. I found them each there and I actually was able to open them without any issues.
As far as opening any files in there or anything, I did open the Deathloop "gamelaunchhelper" application and it started launching the game. Not sure if any of this helps much.

Ok, well try doing this..
go to this directory:
C:\XboxGames\DEATHLOOP\Content\bin\win64-vc141-shipping-d3d12-xboxlive-ltcg\
find the .exe named
Deathloop.exe
And try to copy and then paste it back into the same directory.
"You will need permission from Administrators to do this"
or some such error will occur. The files are locked down in this weird locked mode that needs permissions you don't have.

the XBOXGAMES folder is accessible, but the FILES cannot be opened in anything, copied, or written over. They are, in effect as I said, in a LOCKED PERMISSIONS MODE. So the problem persists. You can add files to the folder, the the GAME FILES themselves are locked, unfortunately, which breaks the method used for us to allow the game to run without the anticheats.

Just tried what you mentioned above, your absolutely right on that, I CANT do that. I guess for now CoSMOS is my only option currently.
