that intro right after that shader compile thing, ran at 1 fps, main menu runs flawless, first cutscene stutters like hell, and first time in game, it runs around 25 fps

they got a week for patching, then im refunding

Ultra settings, no motion blur.

Barely maintaining 60 FPS at 1440p. This is a joke. My pc shouldn't even have trouble running this game at 60+ fps, same **** as with RDR2 in which i can't even hit 60 fps on tweaked settings.

Overclock that 9900k to 5.2 and you'll be good to go, dont rely on intels turbo.
My 9700k @ 5.2 runs fine, my stock RTX2080 im sitting around 65 fps at 1440p, which is fine.

Ugh, i had many issues with overclocking back when i tried it some months ago. I recently had a whole week of headache with my "new" Ram which i had to replace twice and it still did not work.

And im not too confident with my overclocking abilities. Especially when my CPU did not win silicon lottery.

Im certain that a patch will be coming very soon which solves this issue. If not - im just gonna wait it out till i can order one 3080ti next month haha.

I played for hours every day.
But I have the EPIC version.
Steam has a lot problems, I do not buy any new games from Steam after they did not help me to fix there Games.
I needed to download some patches from GOG or other Websites to fix Steam-Games, so I stopped using Steam.

I had some freeze here or there, but thought it was due to the trainer.
Clearly, it wasn't.
I have managed to finish both the base and the frozen wilds without noticeable issue. (i had played them on ps4 before, so i trained my way through.).

it's the age old memory leak, in this case; in shader calculations; the game sucks up all available ram and then the pagefile, if it runs out, it crashes.

on less ram/powerful systems : workaround ive read, is to up the pagefile size to at least 20gb. also having ur pagefile on a ssd drive helps

personally i only got 1-10 sec freezes, no crashes, just let the game do its thing & it will unfreeze and u can carry on, ( the problem is ppl confuse the freeze for a crash) the longer i played tho, the game 6-12hrs the worse it got, a simple game restart cleared it up. just remember to quick save b4 u exit
Ive finished the base game & dlc , just started NG+ ultra hard on ultra setting
