A coup-le of general tips: The icon that the epic games installer creates is not a shortcut to the exe therefore if you are using that shortcut, it may not allow you to run as admin. Navigate to the folder that you installed the game to and then go into the following and find the exe for the game and create a desktop shortcut for it. Right click on the desktop shortcut, go to Advanced options and click Run As Admin checkbox. Click OK to close out of the properties.
path to EXE should be your install folder\PhoenixPoint\PhoenixPointWin64.exe
Now, go to the trainer exe file and repeat the process to create a shortcut to the trainer and then also set it to run as admin.
Launch the trainer now - if you have windows User Account Control on, you should ne prompted to approve it running as admin.
Launch the Game.exe file - if UAC is on, you will be prompted.
once you are at the main menu in the game, alt-tab back to the trainer screen and press F1 and wait for the Activated. - may take a few seconds.
- tip for when you are in the game: When you are at the tactical screen where you can move the individual solders, after activating the trainer options for soldier movement, willpoer, etc.. you may 'loose' the 'actions' bar - the bar that allows you to shoot, overwatch, etc.. - if so, press escape and choose to restart the mission. This will recreate the bar and you will still have the options that you activated for the solderis. Also, it is recommended to disable the options at the end of the mission - I usually disable them on the mission summary screen.

I cant even start the trainer it just says failed. This is what it tells me every time.
