I too am having this error, however, I have every expansion pack and dlc installed. I am sure how to escalate this problem.
Note, it was successfully attached to the game according to the log.

Correction. I forgot that you need to push F1 while in a game. It has been a while before using this trainer (and playing the game in question). Pleas ignore/delete this thread. Thank you for your time and I apologize for the mistake.

How did you get this to work, exactly? I have loaded the trainer once I'm in a game (single player, scenario mode, Platinum version with everything enabled (including Gathering Storm) and after moving a unit as suggested in the ReadMe. I get the same message as you:
"The module name 'GameCore+XP2+Finalrelease.dll' does not exist!"
After creating game with gathering storm on and game loads i press continue so now i'm in game mode then i either press F1 or alt+tab click to activate and next thing that happens is that i can't move troops and if i press next turn this happens and game crashes with small box that states:

Edit: Trainer debug doesn't state errors. Does the same thing if i load created game and activate trainer.

Edit3: Found solution to this issue. When you go through loading savegame or starting a new one activate trainer when you see "Loading, Please Wait..." among character text before you press "Continue" to hop into the game if you have the same issue that i had.

I've been getting the same errors, but this solution hasn't worked for me.
I have tried activating the trainer:
* during the "Loading, Please Wait..." screen when there is no background (it's an otherwise blank/black screen)
* when the "Loading, Please Wait..." text appears while the Civ/Leader screen is up (both during the monologue and after)
* when the "Continue" button appears (before I click it)
* when the game is fully loaded and I can act
* after a full turn WITHOUT the trainer activated (after I have moved/selected a Research, etc., and gone to the start of the next turn)
I have also tried running the trainer as Administrator (and not), and running the trainer before opening Civ6, while Civ6 is loading, when the Menu screen appears, after the savegame loads (before clicking "Continue", and after the game is fully loaded. I even get the crash error if NO cheats are activated (but the trainer is running & connected).
Good news is, the game runs fine if I'm not running the trainer at the same time...
so I cannot load a custom game and activate the trainer? I have to start a NEW game in order to use the trainer? Is that correct?
Note- I have all dlc and have verified it is enabled in steam. I have also attempted the trainer in game and at menu with the same finalrelease.dll error.
trainer needs to be activated in-game where you can move your units.
