It should work as GamePass version installs thru Uplay.
When you start installation it starts Uplay to install the game GamePass only gives you access to the game.

Check your antivirus (maybe Windows Defender) protection history.
My Defender tried to delete the trainer and I had to allow it's presence on my computer.
Defender protection history events have a drop down menu thingy on the right side of the event that lets you allow something it deems harmful on your computer and it does sometimes give false positives about trainers, even CH ones.
Replied just in case this was still an issue for you.

Just an FYI for anyone using Ubisoft+ with this trainer. It works!
I followed all of the instructions given in this thread except the following:
With Ubisoft+ you cannot be in offline mode. So far, all I did was place myself in invisible mode on the top of the Ubi Connect. Ran the trainer, started the game (I've tried all ways to launch and no issues so far). I haven't tried all of the trainer options, but the ones I have used are all working.
I know the instructions say to be safe unplug the internet, but you can't be offline if you are using Ubisoft+ which is when I tried placing myself in invisible mode.

Before I use my points to inform of the latest (PC-Steam) trainer having a non-working function:
---Has anyone using the PC-Steam version of FC5 and the latest CH trainer for FC 5 tried the F3 function of the trainer (teleports you up in the air so you can fly around before gliding or parachuting down again)? It doesn't work for me at all.
ALL other functions of the newest trainer work for me just fine....it's only F3 that has no effect.
I hadn't played FC5 in about 5 or 6 months, and it worked back then. THe game itself may have been updated since then (trainer too, AFAIK), but F3 doesn't teleport me up in the sky as it did before for me.
If someone else cares to test the F3 for THEIR trainer ,I'll post for a trainer update if it doesn't work. SO: does F3 w/ newest CH trainer work for others here w/ PC-Steam version of FC5?

Trainer was working fine but now I will start the trainer but a pop up ask me what app to use to open the .tmp file??? The trainer will not open but instead this windows with several optons. I don't understand this. Have reinstalled the latest trainer but still that popping up screen. Just re installed Far cry 5. Game starts correctly. Trainer not. What can I do?
