Small comment on trainer functionality (thanks for the quick update btw! ). It seems the "food" cheat has been coded to influence by mistake (ie Numpad 3 and Numpad 4 both do the same thing, adding 1K influence). (And yes, I know you can add it via the console instead)
Depending on how far into the game, the trainer will do this, as certain values aren't modified until you reach certain points. It was the same for influence since the start and certain others, I forget which. The normal workaround was the console until you progressed far enough that the game allowed the value to be modified via the trainer, which is likely due to certain conditions being met.
Cool, then I'll keep testing (35 years in, still the case that both buttons trigger influence)
Can you do a simulation of the galaxy for a thousand years and see if it changes? I was curious if that period of time might have flagged enough things for it to work.
Console commands would be "advanced_galaxy" without the quotation marks. It does cause the game to hang for a good minute or two, but then it's 1,000 years later. No worries if you can't do this.
I had the fast research crash tonight. I'm curious if the others that had this issue also had a battle going on while using it. I was actively engaged in spreading the good word of corporatocracy when a stubborn race was defending a ring system for no good reason, decided to shoot my emissaries of peace.. Only thing active during this time was the fast research I toggled on AFTER having invincible activated.
Unfortunately using the console command only gives me a message telling me it'll simulate it 150 years into the future - but doesn't actually advance the calendar
As for the fast research:
- Current version doesn't crash for me, not during battles either (didn't have invincible activated though)
- An observation from comparing this with the previous version: In 2.1 I had the impression that the AI could use fast research and insta-build (if I left it on at the start of a game, I'd encounter overwhelmingly strong normal AI empires in 2215). I got around this by turning the AI off briefly when I was using them (Numpad 8). In this version, Numpad 8 seems to do something very different: it tells the AI to take control of MY empire, ie as soon as you press it, it assigns orders to all idling survey / construction ships, uses any unallocated APs, starts building armies, etc etc. Guessing that wasn't the intention? 🤔
I boosted the trainer in the queue (gotta love that RC 😀 ) and the new trainer is out. Try it and see how it works for you.
I tried the AI Off as well before, and all of the sudden it was like the AI was controlling my civilization. Crazytime.
Thanks! Food option is working as intended now. The AI automation is still currently taking over my empire rather than vice versa.
The AI option is not working for me as well. It acts as if my entire place is another sector under an AI governor's control.
