So after much trial and error, I found some more work-arounds for the Research cheat bug.
1. after activating the research cheat, either pick up a pod with research points, build a research point yielding building or somehow change your research points and it will kick over, many times giving you a free tech to start.
2. Press the research cheat button until the research bar turns completely blue, even if it says it will take many turns, it will kick on and give you the tech you are researching next turn!
Update on the Unit Movement Reset glitch Im experiencing.
It works well for new games, but when you go to load up a game saved (having used the movement cheat in that game prior) it says "deactivated" when I attempt to turn it on, I've tried saving the game with the cheat active and turned off and there doesn't seem to be any difference.
The funny thing is, if I activate the cheat and save the game, no problems if I haven't taken a turn yet, so as long as Im on turn 0, I can save/load the game and Reset Unit Movement works, but once I take a turn and save the game, it does the whole "deactivated" and won't re-activate, as I said before, no matter if the cheat was on or off before I saved.
Hope this helps!
Research work-around was back on page 9...no one reads...
Anyway, the movement bug. So far, what I think happens is that the option was on that unit when you save it and when you try it after the save...it turns it off, and that makes the unit unable to be turned on again. However, having this happen to me a few times...I just made sure that on EACH unit I had the trouble with, I had the option turned off through the trainer (make sure you hear deactivated). THEN finished everything up and progressed to the next turn. This has so far let me, once again, use the option on the problem units.
TL;DR: Make sure option is off before you progress to next turn on units you are having trouble with and it should let you use the option next turn. It has for me so far.
It lets me use the Unit Movement Reset option after I take turns, but not after I save the game after taking any turns, no matter how far into the game I am.
I did happen to read the before posts about the Research option glitch and found -different- work arounds.... Sorry if that seemed redundant?
I tried a new game, turning on the Movement Reset units, turning them back off on each unit individually, took a turn then saved. Turns out that fix worked beautifully, I was able to use the Movement Reset again when I loaded the game back up! Thanks for the work-around, its a little tedious, but not as tedious as only having a couple spaces to move each turn!
No worries. I am excited about this game and the trainer...and I am just a bit afraid that it will get retired seeing people asking the same questions over and over without reading.
Anyway, might have figured out something else about the movement reset. I used the option on one unit..moved them into position and left them there...then I tried to use the option on another unit but it would not work. After a bit of frustration, I went back to the unit I was using before and set them into the defense stance (I forget the name) and sure enough, I could then use the option on the other unit I was wanting to use. Apparently leaving a unit with the option on and not having them preform some action seems to be a problem. It might also be the problem you were having...you might have had a unit with the option on when you saved...but they were preforming no action (attack stance/defense stance) so the trainer was still issuing the option to that one unit making the other units you were trying to use not work.
I hope that made sense. :P
Ive had a weird issue not sure if its trainer related or not. Basically the unit selection window with all the orders bugs and it doesn't display the correct unit when selected or displays a bunch of bogus order names and weird text. Had this when using the movement cheat first and it basically invalidates a game. Anyone else know where this comes from? Once again really not sure if it's trainer or not.
I have not had that issue with the trainer...might want to run something like steam verify integrity cache to see if you have some bad files.
Having an issue with the super culture option, but I went through all 13 pages of responses and didn't find anyone else talk about it, so not sure what I'm doing to cause it...
Basically, I use the super culture to jack up the culture points, I go into virtues, select all the ones I want (I leave between 5-10 empty to account for free virtues), but then when I reset the culture points back down to 1 and click on next turn, my game crashes...any ideas?
That's strange, I've been using the culture option more than any other without any problems.
I'll list what I do so you can try it to see if it works for you:
Open capital, press the culture option, 6.
Close city window, 9999999999 culture listed.
End turn with culture set as that.
Next turn, virtue window pops up, select all of them (Doesn't matter about leaving space for the free virtues).
Open city, press 6 again, it'll say 'activated'.
Close city, open it again, press 6, hear 'deactivated'. This time it will auto-close the city window, and all the virtue tabs on the right will be gone, and all your virtues will still be in place.
After this, play as normal. No crashes for me doing this.
