I found that Win7 doesnt show your true clock speed when you overclock the chip and even if you just activate xmp profile which usually auto overclocks cpu by negligible amount it reports wrong cpu clock.
I tried even everything on stock and insted of 3.3ghz base and 3.6ghz turbo it shows both speeds on base clock 3.3ghz which is rather weird.
I researched it a bit and also found that Win xp reports the exact amount of clock both base and turbo even when you overclock.
For some strange reason Vista and Win7 arent accurate when it comes to cpu's clocks(in some cases).
That's why I'm so curious if they addressed these issues in Win10...
XMP profiles have nothing to do with the CPU, at leats not in the way you just described.
apparently win9 was suppose to be an upgraded version of win8, but I have tried it, and hated it. And so have so many others hated it, that Microsoft decided to skip win8 upgraded(win9) and went on to make win10. I'm hoping 10 is good, but im not gonna hold my breathe...
In german windows 9 would be windows neun.
Translated that would be "windows no" practically.
