I've given up temporarily on the Firefox issue (read: too lazy to reinstall it) and started using Internet Explorer out of sheer boredom. If you can live without most extensions, it actually is not that bad of a browser. The only thing I don't like is that if the site uses default styling of buttons, IE will make it "fancy" and put in its own default styling to it. Technically Chrome does this too. I absolutely hate this non-standard practices so (glares at MS and Google). Firefox does not do this non-sense

Windows 10 and IE (both 11 and the DC version) seem to get along fine. I've left the window open (multiple windows in and out at varying times) and there's no memory lag and it's hardware accelerated. DC has a very strange security issue involving uploading things. Cannot open upload dialog and no indication is given. The only hint is from the web console which displays "Access is Denied". Does not happen with production releases of IE so looks like a regression bug specific to IE.

Don't know what IE DC is? It's the development version of IE and contains unpolished new features (mostly for web development) to try out and give feedback. If you use trainers, do not download it. It will cause legacy trainers to not authenticate.

ESET NOD32 (the anti-virus I use) appears to have trouble communicating with its HIPS engine and the internet. It can still catch malware and do scans and update so unsure of the impact on that. Looks like another regression issue found.

I actually like the matte finish that Windows 8+ gives to Windows. It's very minimalistic and clean which is something I favor in UX design. It seems Apple is following in that direction a bit as well (it's gone for a much flatter appearance in both iOS and the OS X).
    Your bitterness, I will dispel

Most people like it as well, that's why I belive Microsoft continued with this line.
And dont get me wrong I adore the new IOS and I love clean sleek interfaces in general and in most cases.
My main problem with Win interface are those matte colors, I mean take a look at IOS 7&8 it's so mmm damn white! It's uber minimalistic and yet it looks so pure bright and shiny it gives me peace of mind even when doing the simplest things..
On the other hand Win 8&10 matte colors especially the basic ones (red, blue, green) really depress me and I cant explain why, maybe it's something that derives from my childhood Idk.

Noticed several spots where Windows 10 (and probably earlier versions) are failing WCAG 2.0 guidelines for color contrast (meaning some text is hard to read). It's rare but is a violation of S508 and should be corrected.

I did a re-installation of Firefox and removed a few unneeded add-ons and have not seen any issues. Most likely culprit was an extension that forces Flash to always use hardware acceleration on the GPU and have a horrific performance / memory leak with it.

    Microsoft can't count.

    I'll stick with my 7.

The reason the Next Windows won't be 9 is because there was ALREADY a WINDOWS 9x platform in the 90's.. Windows 95,98... and On some System requirement labels Manufacturers abbreviated windows 95 or 98 with just WINDOWS 9x

Don't know about that close program bit every time I go to the apps screen in Windows 8.1 to have a quick game of cards then close and come back to normal desktop hit ctrl alt delete for taskbar to find the card game still running same with the photos program.

Found my first serious defect in using Windows 10 involving RDP. For some reason when I was connected to my PC through RDP, the network protocols kept getting erased from the registry causing the internet connection to outright fail. Interestingly enough it did not cause any problems for access local network resources (e.g. a NAS resource). I have only confirmed it if the computer has a wireless connection to a router rather than a wired connection though (and wireless was forewarned would be wonky on the build that I have so it may already be fixed).
