you would think that the people who are most directly impacted by the president's decisions would care more about who that person actually is...especially in a time such as this where world powers(mainly us) are struggling to keep that title and are very VERY close to being involved in a global conflict in proportions that the world has never seen before.

sooner or later, you and i both are going to be in or near Iran. i personally feel like the election of who is going to be calling the shots for us the next 4 years in such a time of peril and calamity would be one of the most important events of our lives.

i see more and more soldiers who's outlook parallels yours and this view of "who cares about who is in charge, we gotta do what they tell us either way" is exactly the kind of mentality that made the German military so susceptible to the views of the Nazi regime...so maybe you, and all my fellow soldiers should think twice before belittling such an important issue.

I tried to put a lot of thought into it. But when it comes down to it, I can see them all doing the same thing(IE response) to a conflict that comes up.

I do not 100% agree with the war. We are here now, I do not feel that we should be pulling out like we are. We gave Iraq complete power to soon and are doing the same thing in Afgan. I know that the next president will call another "end" to the war and pull all of us out leaving an unstable region, forcing us to return within the next 30 years.

I view may be put off as arrogant and blind, but after dealing with pre-mob training and about to leave for another, while still waiting for final orders, I and most soldiers I see have grown tired of caring for the simple fact of what you mentioned. We HAVE to do what they say or have full force of the UCMJ brought down upon us, but do keep in mind, a large factor in why those with their combat patches dont give a **** is the money.

ah...feels good to be correct every once in a while.

I'm not surprised that the President won, but I am a little surprised with how lopsided the electoral colleges' votes turned out to be given the split nature of the popular vote.
