Funny post here. Game has a release date of the 10th but is receiving very bad reviews right now.

I got today, from local retail store, they were selling at half price

So bought it, it is full of /facepalm, they haven't changed the background in cutscenes like it was in the demo it looks so very SNESy. The resolutions are horrid, first time I played it tried to set the game to 1080i, but once I picked the usual resolution I play it the cutscenes were boxed up into smaller resolution on the screen.

The speech from the characters are so well not enjoyable, it is like they all speak with the same monotonous tone. The history is wrong also.

And the game is just one big go this way and slash and slash and slash and slash, only thing that broke the boredom was using catapults at one point.

And lets not talk about the hit detection with traps being knocked back into another trap and being bounced about between them is not fun.

Was this console or PC version? I got the chance to play the first 10 or 20 mins at a friends and I actually quite liked it, though I'll admit it was mostly just hack and slash your way through different groups of enemies.

The graphics weren't anything to complain about, but then I've never been particularly concerned about that in any game. Neither is voice acting (I enjoyed Two Worlds 1 thoroughly =P) As for the history, I'm sure they said at one point that it was kept historically accurate, but then recently the devs have said they took a creative licence to it, which isn't anything bad. The locations are still supposed to be accurate.

The only actual problem I had was when it seemed like the display driver crashed, but then seemed to recover. Unfortunately after it recovered the performance dropped considerably, like I was playing it on a PS1.

My only gripe was that I noticed it uses a checkpoint based save. WHY?! Seriously... why not just package a pen and paper in with the game and we can write down what we've done to the point of death or quitting, then we can do it all over again when we restart.

Anyways, Steam still says the 12th, so I gotta wait to play it properly still =[. I'm still excited to play it though.

Was PC, seemingly was definitely released yesterday. I have a nice system was running it full, textures and distances was set to Ultra (only two options you could do at that).

The voice acting is bad, omg... the funny bits your main character speaks with no emotion to it. It's just......bad.

I hope Ubisoft Montreal may decide for fun in between future Assassin Creeds to actually introduce the Templar side of things as a good templar against the bad templar who becomes Abstergo.

lol, plain monotonous voice acting... definitely having TW1 flashbacks.

The release date is weird... I'll have to check in Game when I go out in the morning.

Playing as the templars would actually be pretty fun I think... but to do that, they'd have to introduce an assassin-style Templar, which would basically just leave everyone asking why they didn't turn up in the series and just left us with the plain, moronic guards. <.<

After Ezio it is the right time to do it, chronologically Ezio's years were the same time the Templars fled France after Jacques De Molay was executed at the stake (Friday the 13th originated from this - as he placed a curse on the King and Pope who backstabbed the order. Both died within the year in weird circumstances).

So the Scottish Templars may be introduced easily as loyal Templars who are against the Papal loyal Templars who helped the Borgia family.

And since the next AC is rumoured to be in France for the renaissance period this will be the same time Templars started to come from Scotland to France again. And of course the introduction of the 2 offshoot groups to the Templars who stayed loyal but did not flee to Scotland. Order of the Rose Cross (Alchemists) and Fedeli D'Amore (Faithful Love - Dante being the originator who wrote the Divine Comedy - which some believe is based on the Holy Grail which was not a cup but the bible's lost book written by Jesus himself detailing his 7 days and nights in Hell etc. Which the Vatican and Catholic Church removed from early bibles.)

saw the review and actual gameplay, it's a mess. Terrible game, plain and simple. So glad I didn't preorder it. Only a few day to Witcher 2 and Fable 3.
