    i'm going to keep one save game with the Collector Base intact and one with the Collector Base destroyed in ME2. plus i played once with the ME1 save game where i saved the citadel council and appointed anderson as ambassador(i hate Udina...reminds me of some of the politicians we have here) and then destroyed the Collector Base. i have that save game too. so i think i'm good.

    I did the paragon route in both ME 1 and 2 however the one with the collecter station had me thinking for a moment. In the end i destroyed it beacause i think reaper tech is to dangerous and its just more dangerous in the hands of Cerberus. The reaper IFF was the reason that the normandy S2 crew got captured.

    The morals of such a choice is very much in the gray zone for me. I have two saves per char. one for blowing the base up, one for saving it.

    If you save it for Cerb, you have no control over what he does with it. I dont think he would use it against humanity, but he would def make a stand against the council, or anyone else that stood in his way...IF and when the reapers are defeated..or at least convinced to go somewhere else and obliterate something else.

    If you blow it up, you loose a powerful resource that only cerb could touch, so far they are the only ones with the IFF codes. It might have a great and far reaching effect in ME3 though, all of that tech is from reapers..and whats left of the protheans/collectors.

    ME2 is a lot darker than the original, the "choices" are more for your crew than the actual storyline push of the reapers but that was the point. i just dont see ME2 having a great amount of change on ME3..except for the base choice. Nothing like the Thorian or Rachni(sp) choices in ME1 thats for sure.

    edit: uh my bad, i forgot about the whole geth/machine choice where you blow up the base or change the virus to stop the reaper worshiping faction. prob a few others in there ive forgotten. what, i get lost in the pixels ..forget what im doing i..mmm sleep.

    What about squadmember deaths? Did anyone purposely get any of their squad killed in the suicide mission?

    There were a few characters which I didn't like so much so I decided to not do their loyalty quests and take them out of the game for ME3.

    -I sent Jacob through the tube (he ate a rocket)
    -I sent Zaeed back with the crew (he died while allowing the crew to escape)
    -I took Miranda (she is a bad choice, it will lead to 1 death) to create the bionic field and got Grunt killed while Miranda's shield failed.
    -I left Mordin (while loyal) with the defenders, he also didn't make it.

    So now I'm left with a squad that I'm happy with.

    I saved the Krogan antidote,saved the geth, saved the base I hope it will be blowing interesting in the 3rd part. And one more thing I preferred to save the base because, I thought of the problems on our earth that exist. The technology is the most important thing now,when the planet runs out of resources So it is in MA2 too,because of the near war coming. Furthermore our heroes who are like 10 people,can destroy an alien base within an hour, if the Cerberus try to play games my squad will take them out :P

    As for me, I decided to destroy it. True power is earned, not given or taken.

    I did the same thing, but my reasoning is a little different. We had the power handed to up in the way of the Mass Effect Relay, and that nearly wiped out the galaxy, like it did before. Anything dealing with the Reapers has resulted in more trouble than it's worth. I'd rather deal with the stuff I know won't screw me over than the iffy stuff.

    Fair points to both scenarios but my thoughts are on the fact cerberus, though pro human, are willing to experiment on humans, or use them for tests, as seen in ME1, it makes me think is the illusive man going to try to create a human friendly reaper that they will try to somehow control. Therefore that collector ship is going to be made into a pretty fireworks display.

    it would be interesting to see what happens in ME3 if we keep the collector base intact and sour our terms with the illusive man in the end
