General Discussions

In America, the only things we learn are math and science. I've been learning the same things in history and english for the past 4 years. It gets boring.

But, since my 360 is currently out of commission, I enjoy school.

I had to read Of Mice and Men every year from 6th grade through the 11th grade. I escaped it in 12th by taking creative writing and sci-fi, two courses only open to seniors.

But wouldn't you be able to eventually remember the entire book and not have to read it?

Yes, indeed. But that didn't stop the teachers from assigning it.

The school district only owns X number of each book on their lists, and I have the feeling that they have enough copies of the book to have every student, K-12, read it simultaneously.

Whereas, one year the teacher had to restructure the semester because there weren't enough copies of The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven to go around, so we watched the movie Smoke Signals before reading the book it was based on. Kind of ruined the book.

I hated it but I kinda wish I had paid more attention
