The reason Wisconsin is #29 and not #51 is because when our legislature passed a bill to "toughen" our drunk driving laws, they decided that it's only a crime if you blow over .15; everything else is still just a $20 ticket. Hooray Beer!
In the end they will lay their freedom at our feet and say to us, 'Make us your slaves, but feed us.'

I'm thoroughly shocked to see that Michigan scored higher than 50. I have to say that our state's current... state... sucks. I know I'm incredibly unhappy with the way things are going here. As for personal happiness, I'm a pretty happy guy. I don't know which the results measured but, somehow, I doubt it was personal happiness.

Funny, I was just thinking to myself today how nice it would be to live in Hawaii.

46th? Hmm...
And why is the District of Columbia up there? That's not a state.

Why are the unhappiest states also the ones with the highest population? Are people stupid enough that they enjoy being miserable?

No, it's just that their miserableness is someone else's problem, so that means someone else should fork over the time and effort to fix it.
