I was wondering what happens after getting the super RDX explosive upgrade/perk.
Larger explosion radius? or can I let them explode from far far away?
THe explosion radius and blast effect grows bigger. Normal RDX needs about 4-5 to KO a Wulf tank. Super RDX needs only 2. In weapon terms its the same as the difference between a panzerfaust and a panzershrek.
There's a bug with Super RDX. I keep numerous save files and after completing Blockbuster I noticed that when I reloaded my game after the perk, Super RDX just disappeared.
The gun smugglers will have "Super RDX" on their menu in place of "RDX" after you earn the perk - but not if you die or ever turn the game off.
I've gone back to my files and redone the perk numerous times. Even if you buy the gold perk upgrade instead of destroying 3 Wulf Tanks, it's still the same. And since the Perk List shows Super RDX as being completed, I don't see how you can ever earn the thing again - even if they do come up with a patch to fix the bug.
And yes, the explosions look significantly different (Super RDX looks like setting off 3 RDXs at the same time).
Your RDX is upgraded automatically when you earn the perk (gun smugglers all immediately start selling Super RDX in place of RDX), so it's not like there's anything to activate. It just looks like a really disappointing bug.
On my main save file I have 2 of 3 Wulfs destroyed, but in order to get the Panzershrek I have to destroy a Wulf and a Zeppelin. So either I wait for Pandemic to release a patch before getting the Panzershrek (not freakin' likely since EA shut down Pandemic a couple of weeks ago), or I get the Panzershrek and reconcile myself to losing Super RDX. Sucks.
