Putting aside past differences for a moment...

HG, you cannot start on XIII. I can say already that it will not do justice to the series due to the amount of changes etc that have been made.

Download an emulator, find a website that has the PlayStation releases and at least start those first. It's a crime to let your first Final Fantasy be the next-gen release.

(My first was IX, I recommend it highly)

well I already have a PSX emulator. And the PS1 games are extinct and are not for sale in any store near or faraway from me. And I don't think its legal to download.

Life is best for those who enjoy it, difficult for those who analyze it and worst for those who criticize it.

Well, I emulated IX but I already owned the game.

They don't make money on the PS versions anymore due to length of time in circulation so *shrugs*

Queen is right, You should not play this first and te thing is that you should not miss playing any of the FF games. Cause they are all awesome. Even the last remnant, which was made by Square Enix.

This is goin' to be huge, but i'm worried about how to get it. I found most of the FF games really hard, i hope this one doesn't do the same to me.

It's been a long time coming.

This game is absolute crap relative to previous FF games. Visuals + battle system are the only up points on this game.(Even the battle system is subject conflicting opinions between other reviewers)

    There is no world map
    No towns
    No side quests
    No exploration
    No NPC interaction

The only side quest/mini games are monster hunting like in FFXII and a hot/cold chocobo game. (which are not available until near end game)

The game is linear, you go from point a to point b and fight monsters along the way like Super Mario. You can't diverge from the story line and take a break. And with a weak story line in this game, you will soon get bored. All of disk 1 and majority of disk 2 your team is split up into 2 person parties playing in different parts of the world.. so you will not get full control of your team all together until end of disk 2.

After playing this game for a while you will soon realise that this game is not all too different from games like Devil May Cry.

13 hours-ish will take you to end of disk 1
20 hours-ish takes you to end of disk 2
Disk 3 is when you get full control of your team members.
30-35 to near end of storyline, maybe another 40 hours of mindless grinding then in order to gear up for big bosses.

All of this information are based on my personal experiences playing this game and the majority of the FF series since FFVI, yours may be different.

Sad But True, Buy and XBox 360 FF XIII Bundle Package, you'll thank yourself later, PS3 is wasted money. Only thing about BlueRay is the 50gig Data Storage. Where as the FF XIII has 250gig HDD you can put your Games on and get 20secs faster load times then BlueRay.. MUWHAHAHA!

    XBox 360 Results
    Graphics - 1024i = DAMN YAH!
    Sounds - Full High Def, 5.1 7.1 = I can't Hear you!
Game Play - New Exciting - More Class Types = Why did I buy this game, it only lasted 2days... Like what Akatsukii said..
Over All = Only buy this game if your a Final Fantasy HardCore...

What's sad about this game, the continual changing of classes, the team spliting up all the time, and the worst Eiddon Fights EVER! short n sweet..

"Enjoy the Game your way, and Don't let me detour you from becoming a Final Fantasy Addict."

OH I Forgot Too Mention.. They will not Release FF XIII on PC, and PS3 / XBox 360 Emulations will not work on these games. Why? They put the lastest anti-hack, anti-copy, anti-fake on each DVD , BlueRay.. I tried many times..
