an idea for the repair is this:
save your position at the repair station.
drive around as long as you want
when you ready to repair, press teleport key
repair,
then press undo teleport key
and you are right back where you were with repairs.
the teleport stuff is very powerful for stuff like this.
same thing before races. save position, complete race, teleport back to area before you started race (if you want to, etc.)

this is my 1st post here on the forum and unfortunately I have to disagree you Caliber.
on Road Rage event, when you repair your car in a workshop, it stops working, preventing you from back there a second time.
then, save the position is not as useful as a tool in this type of event...
sorry if I'm wrong.
but the idea of members to put a auto repair is really good.
