We've had the glory of having the rank for a whole year. Technically, I didn't need to drop the rank until a moderator told me to do so, but I voluntarily dropped the rank for Veteran to signify a change and prepare for the NEW VIPs to take their rightful roles. It's just a passing-the-torch sort of thing, it's not too outrageous to ask.
I believe you'll find it in your Usies Handbook, Chapter 57: Clause 42007.
