Good responses, how about your favorite gym leader in any of the games? This includes any of the Elite Four or just important battles within the games. It could also be a battle against your rival.

I liked Steven, from Pokemon Emerald. He was the hardest trainer in the game, stronger than the Elite Four, and I beat him my first try. It made me feel good, and he also looks pretty cool, so he is my favorite.

Mine's Volkner because we have the same haircut.
But my favorite trainer overall has to be red from the gold/silver/crystal games. He was probably one of the coolest bosses from my childhood. =P
