but anyways....knightpress....u rule. amazing mod.
Ewiger Krieg 5-19-2008, now with Allied and Wehrmacht flavors!
First, I've gone back and added Rangers, which somehow I've overlooked up till now, to both the British Commonwealth and Americans.
Now the big deal is that the original Ewiger Krieg was round about 20-30 times as big as ULTIMATE Special Tank mod, this latest version is more than twice as big again as even its previous incarnation.
The Americans/Allies now have access to the full roster of British units through the conventional Allied buildings (cobbling in the British HQ, Infantry, and Armor trucks was more headache than it was worth). With that in mind, the Allies are pretty quick on the draw since they have comparably few buildings to construct to have a hell of a roster to pick from.
The Wehrmacht/Axis are also enhanced, to basically be the inverse of the Panzer Elite. Their two rosters are of course mirror images, and let me be the first to tell you getting the Flakvierling 38 and Flak 88 to build properly from the Luftwaffe was a pain but well worth it. As a side effect of losing access to any possible doctrine defenses for Panzer Elite units, I decided to preemptively unlock them for the PE units while playing as the Wehrmacht. This very arguably makes the Wehrmacht incredibly powerful on defense (as if their defense wasn't already good) having full access to PE tank traps, teller mines, and of course the Flak 88, which when used in concert make an "Allied Rush" pretty much a slaughter. Add to that their new found Panzer Elite options and enormous roster of tanks, the Wehrmacht/Axis is far and away the most powerful faction in Ewiger Krieg, but I never said this mod even resembled being "play balanced".
Merely the act of unlocking units that were previously concealed or limited in some fashion of course directly unbalances the game play, but that is of course a completely unimportant function of the mod, which is really to expand upon the game and add some more interest.
The documentation in the download has a couple minor updates, and perhaps when I get around to it I'll make a proper update to the Unit List document to include the now modified Axis/Allies.
a .RAR file is associated with the program WinRAR, which is just like .ZIP or .7z just another method. You can get WinRAR here:
got a shock thou when i played monterbourg and a king tiger appeared, lol.
Frankly though, I like it and I feel like it really spices the game up.
