Followed your instructions for loading the mod and when i go to open the shortcut to start the game, it dies just as it is about to open to the main menu. Did I do something wrong with the install?

Hmmm... any crashing on start up is less to do with the mod and more to do with how the game is starting up.

Are you using any other mods? If so, don't.

Are the symptoms the same when running without any mods?

Are you certain you followed the instructions to the letter? Any deviance from the absolutely prescribed method is not advised. I wrote the instructions very methodically from a "step by step procedure" perspective, so don't skip anything, or rush through even a single step. If in doubt, patch up the game, undo whatever you may have already done through whatever means necessary, and start at step one and read through every step before taking any action, then read them again as you do each task.

I'm sorry for any troubles you are having, but without more information to go on diagnosis of the symptoms and of course offering a course of correction is difficult and limited.

Thank's i will review your instructions and look at it again, after I removed the additional script in the target line of the shortcut the game went back to normal. I don't have any other mods and had no problems running the game. Maybe I didn't have the files located in the correct folder or something. I am on the latst patch of the game.

in that case, there is no more "absolute" way to ensure that it is working, and working as intended, than to run it through Corsix's Mod Studio (don't panic, it's completely free and easy to use).

If it's not copied to the correct place, the program will tell you. If you didn't do something wrong or there is something corrupt in the download, it will also tell you.

If however it runs fine, then it was the shortcut and everything else was innocent.

Instructions are all there, and it's very straight forward to do.

Just open Corsix's Mod Studio, choose "Load CoH/OF Mod", navigate to your Company of Heroes folder and open Ewiger_Krieg.module

Depending on your OS and settings, the .module part may not appear in the listing, but it should be the only one with an UNDERSCORE in between the two words, rather than a space, this was done quite on purpose for identification sake.
