Alfa Romeo CEO hints at 8C Competizione ‘GTA’
At the launch of the new Mi.To hatch this week, Alfa Romeo CEO Luca de Meo revealed details about a new a special edition 8C Competizione being considered to celebrate the carmaker’s centenary in 2010. The new car would be a lighter and more powerful version of the current 8C coupe, similar to Lamborghini’s Superleggera version of the Gallardo. - Link

Ferrari launches official magazine
Enthusiasts and owners worldwide can now enjoy a monthly publication called the Official Ferrari Magazine. Targeted at fans of cars, design, racing culture and fashion, the magazine features some unique and authoritative contributors, including Michael Schumacher. The ex-F1 pilot opens the inaugural issue with a feature interview with Fiat Group Chairman Luca di Montezemolo. - Link

As far as the Alfa goes, the more fast and beautiful cars out there the better so I glad to see a special edition 8C. And I definitely wanted that Ferrari magazine, until I say how expensive it is, ya, I'm definitely not getting it.

On the way to work this morning I heard a Ford ad on the radio. They didn't say a single thing about any vehicles made by Ford . . . they said come and buy a used Nissan.

What? I realize that all dealerships sell used cars that other manufacturers make but come on . . . you might as well say "Sorry our cars suck so much, but why not come and buy a Nissan from us?". If you want people to come to your dealerships and buy cars, make your own cars better, don't try to sell imports.

If Ford never survives the mess they're in, I won't be surprised.

On a related note, industry analysts are saying that GM might actually go bankrupt.

I'm not a fan of Fords, hence the following. No flaming intended.

A while ago, I asked about a repair manual because my rear brakes needed replacement. Well, since I'm too lazy to go out and get a tool to repack the wheel bearings and do the work myself, I took it to a shop to look at the brakes.

It appeared as if one of the pads had deteriorated because they were making a scraping sound as I was driving.

But it wasn't the pads or the brakes at all. It was rust.

Two minutes of labor with a wire brush costs $48, just FYI.

Yesterday I found a magazine at a store called Modified Luxury and Exotic. It's just like Modified Mag (the Japanese tuner magazine) except it's only about expensive luxury and exotic cars. It's a pretty decent magazine and I might just subscribe. This is what's in the current issue - Link

But I'm also thinking about subscribing to Auto Week, but I don't know any stores that sell it and don't want to subscribe without reading at least one issue. Has anyone read an issue?

I subscribe to a few magazines. Corvette Fever, Corvette Enthusiast, and NZV8.
