Name calling again and again!!! on Nintendogs Nintendo DS Message Board - Page 1

Hello! I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem. I just bought my dog, and I named it Lily. Once she had learned her name, I kept calling her so that she wouldn't forget it. After about the 6th time calling her, (and her coming to me) it told me that she had forgoten her name. I did it again and the same thing happened about 4 times. 🤔 🤔 Does anyone know if this is a game fault or if I am doing something wrong?!?

The biggest horse lover there ever was. And that's because I said so. hahahaha (evil laughter)

When the game asked you to type it's name down did you or not? If you didn't there's your problem.

say Lily (with the same intoniation - or whatever it is what a neighbour says on a walk - )and when she comes to you, pet her until you get the sparklies. Then repeat her name and she will bark, pet her again. then repeat over and over.

Thanks so much for your help! I now have 4 dogs who r great at agility, and I'm saving up for another one! 💛

However, do not repeat too many times in one day. Eventually the dog gets bored if you pat it too much.

Also, make sure you are not too close to the microphone and also make sure that there WASN'T any backround sound when you first gave the dog a name, or that backround music must be present to call the dogs name.

So many users put this as a problem! Luckily I am patient ( ) ignore the smiley, so I answer them all, nearly. After all these answers it is lucky that I have kept my sanity. ( ) The answer is to repeat it over and over again. Every time your dog comes to you or barks after you called its name stroke it until you get sparkles, and repeat, and reapeat eventually the dog learns, you just have to have a lot of patience like me. (God! I am impaitent of writing already!).
