Please help I am stuck I can't beat the big machina at the bridge when you are leaving the Calm Lands to go to Mount Gagazit. (I know my spelling is wrong but I have been up for 27 hours with my sick toddler) I would really like any help I can get thanks. Angel

Okay well the easiest way to beat him is to cast hastega and protect on everyone you're using. Have Auron use armor break and mentle break. Then have Lulu cast some level three magic(waterga's good) use Bahamut's overdrive and Ifrits. And that should be good enough.

First have Rikku throw a smoke grenade, for about fourteen turns the Defender X will only be able to hit you with the haymaker attack as every other attack will miss you because it will be blinded then have Rikku throw Fire Gems until the Defender recovers from blind (Smoke grenades can be stolen from the birds in the Calm lands and the Fire Gems can be stolen from the Flame Flans).

Exactly what Yunie said, except level up ALL of your Aeon's overdrive and then unleash their fury.
Make sure you use Auron's armor break and mental break first and Protect and Haste as well.
