Actually no, his was not the same size, his was supposed to be absolutely huge and was in the class of Super Star Destroyer, go to starwars.com and search for it in their database of units.
An Imperial Star Destroyer is 1,600 meters long A Super Star Destroyer is 19,000 meters long
Quoted directly from www.starwars.com/databank/starship/superstardestroyer/index.html:
The Super Star Destroyer is one of the largest, most powerful Imperial vessels ever created. It follows the same basic dagger-shaped design of the Imperial-class Star Destroyers, but magnified to much larger scale. A smooth hull presents an arrowhead shaped profiled when viewed from above. Resting in the center of this hull is an "island" of habitable volume. Weapons emplacements bristle on the layered city-like surface. The trapezoidal command tower stands near the aft end of this island, capped with two geodesic communication and deflection domes. The underside is a busy network of engineering and superstructure. Thirteen colossal engine thrusters glow blood red as they push the immense craft through space.
Though there are several command ships, the most distinguished of the Super Star Destroyers is Lord Vader's flagship, the Executor. This vessel led the Imperial Death Squadron after the Battle of Yavin. It also served as the command ship at the Battle of Endor.
At that critical engagement, its officer, Admiral Piett, was tasked with preventing Alliance warships from escaping the battle. He did not expect the unorthodox Alliance strategy of engaging the Imperial Fleet at point-blank range. The Executor was a prime target for repeated barrages from Alliance vessels. Eventually, the Rebel ships were able to penetrate its powerful bridge shields. A wayward A-wing starfighter, crippled and out of control, spun directly into the Executor's bridge. Its control systems destroyed, the Executor was embraced by the second Death Star's gravity well, and the two collided in a colossal explosion that destroyed the flagship.

Asuka i think your mistaken :\ Wedge Antilles survives all three star wars movies and is in all the rogue squadron books. the a-wing pilot that took out the executor was Arnyd Crynid (sic) and he had a new republic star destroyer named after him.

The A-Wing that crashed into the bridge of the Executor was not Wedge Antilles. Wedge Antilles was not only relatively far away from that incident, but Wedge and Red (let it be noted that at Yavin IV, the squadron was Red Squadron, then was commissioned as the elite Rogue Squadron just before Hoth in The Empire Strikes Back, but was again renamed Red Squadron after the squadron suffered significant losses at Hoth. Later, Rogue Squadron was recommissioned under then Commander Antilles command) was the one that fired the shot that destroyed the Death Star II core reactor. Wedge Antilles story continues throughout the aftermath of Endor and on through the X-Wing book series, all the way through the Yuuzhun Vong war (25 years AFTER Return of the Jedi). The pilot that crashed into the bridge of the Executor was an A-Wing pilot. Wedge Antilles ****pit is decidedly that of an X-Wing during ROTJ. Trust me, I have only missed 1 or 2 Star Wars books total, and Wedge was DEFINITELY not an A-Wing pilot at Endor. However, Tycho Celchu, who later played a significant part in deceiving Ysanne Isard during the capture of Coruscant, WAS piloting an A-Wing at Endor and succeeded in drawing off two TIE Interceptors from the run on the Death Star core. In books afterwards, Tycho (Teeko) wears an Endor patch with a black spot to signify that he survived the Death Star run. [Wedge wears two.])
-Edit; Also worth mentioning, a typical Imperial Star Destroyer IS 1700m long. However, the Super-class Star Destroyer is 8000m long. The Eclipse-class is just over 17,000m long. Just clarifying

May I ask you where you got those measurements? Because I got mine from the official Star Wars site.
