There is a major bug that causes the sound to stop working when you start the DLC area Iki Island. Initially various sounds stop working like speech and other noises, eventually all sound drops out. Seems like it's been around since the DLC released on the PS but they still haven't fixed it yet.

If you want to try the DLC it's recommended you save before going so you can reload if the bug happens.

Playing on Iki now and it works fine.

I had the same problem. The sound worked fine for a couple hours then only sound would be ambient sounds only. I found locking your FPS under 100 helped, but didn't completly fix it, but happend less.
