Steam Deck Discussion

Hi friends!
I'm having issues with Aurora on Steam Deck when playing Elden Ring. I have everything set up fine, everything launches, but no matter what settings I change Aurora pops to the front and I can't switch to the game. I can select the game window, but Aurora is still at the front. I found an Aurora setting to minimise to the tray, and that does work for a few seconds, but then it pops back up!
Any assistance would be massively appreciated!

I've tried both (forgot to specifically mention in my post), it still won't do it

Its a bug in Proton. The only known workaround is to turn off fullscreen. If that doesnt work for your game then you're out of luck. You can try and report it to Valve but considering how long this bug exists I doubt they care about it, as long as the original game works.

Ah that sucks, never mind!
I'll see if I can be bothered to try in desktop mode and/or just give up for now

Hey I'm not sure if you figured out a fix but I was having the same issue on newly installed games. I saw Proton 9.0 (Beta) was selected on all the games I installed. Once I updated it to a non beta Proton it worked fine. I'm currently using Proton 8

I literally can't get it working at all (I have the same issue I had with Elden Ring with Ghost of Tsushima).
When you mention the proton version, do you mean changing that in the launcher thing that loads Aurora up? I tried that for Elden Ring but it didn't change anything for me

I got it to work!
For me changing the Proton version didn't help

BUT

Putting the steam deck in developer mode did! As soon as I clicked that toggle I was able to switch windows without any issues 😁
