You can find a Larvitar in the Sevault Canyon on Island 7.

You can catch it like all other Pokémon : weaken it first, change its status and then try to throw some Great Ball / Ultra Ball at it.

O.K., i'm new and, if you can't already tell, i need help!! i have many pokemon already and my most neediest dilema is evolving a few and trading some from fire red to my leaf green, no real harm there... the problem consists of three words: totodile, cyndaquil, chikorita. if ya can't trade from gold, silver or crystal, how do they expect you to get those? 🤔 if this is a really simple answer, i'm gonna pull my hair out... but.... i like my hair...

1.trade from silver/gold to ruby/sapphire/emerald and then to leaf green NOTE- you cant directly transfer from silver/gold to leaf green and to trade to ruby/S/E u must obtain the national dex and get to the seven islands by retrieving the ruby and sapphire that the guy in the poke center in the first island wants
2.use action replay

... i knew that... thanks, i feel like this guy right now --> also... i'm trying to do that 'MYSTERY GIFT' but my wireless isn't working. here's what i've done: i have both fire red and leaf green on mystery gift terms, they are both facing each other AND they're both aiming to get the mystery card. it says the following: Searching for WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM. Wait... and when i tried to trade some pokemon from silver to sapphire, it didn't work... i KNOW i'm doing something wrong ...
