We are proud to announce that the first public release of Aurora 1.7.1 PREVIEW has a new feature called "Savegame Protection". Every time you save in your game, Aurora automatically creates a backup of your savegame (around ~10 seconds later). This allows you to restore whenever you need to, for example:
- You accidentally overwrote a savegame - A trainer option caused a game breaking bug - A game only has 1 save game slot (or perhaps just auto saves)
This feature currently works for Steam and Ubisoft games (Detailed limitations are explained in Aurora the first time you launch it). You can enable this feature on homepage of Aurora but also in settings later. You need to do that before activating the trainer though.
We are really curious to hear if you like this feature or not. But we also heavily rely on your feedback. By the massive amount of games, especially on Steam, it can happen that this feature doesn't work correctly. If you have this feature enabled, a new status bar appears on the trainer page in Aurora. This bar will show you if there is a problem with a game or not. You will also hear a new voice after trainer activation IF everything is expected to be okay, and you will hear a new voice each time the game saves and a backup has been created (you can turn off the voices if necessary in Aurora settings).
Now IF you encounter issues, then please first click on Generate Debug File button on the status bar. It MAY create a zip file on your desktop. In this case please attach the zip file with your post. In your post please mention the full name of the game and the distribution (Steam or Ubisoft/UPlay).
Please post any and all feedback regarding this new feature in this thread only. Please note that we will read every comment but we may not reply to each comment individually.

PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A VERY *EXPERIMENTAL* FEATURE. WE NEED ANYONE AND EVERYONE'S FEEDBACK ON IT.
This has the potential to be a game changer in not only preserving your savegames but also could grow into something larger with more applications such as providing trainer makers with your savegame files if you experience crashes or issues with options and even more things we aren't willing to disclose at this time. We really hope you like it and it's just one of those things like Windows System Restore. You don't really think about it or care about it until your PC won't boot and you desperately need that restore point. It's just us trying to look out for you guys and provide additional features and services for no additional cost or membership upgrade.

It works amazingly good, in fact too much for the game I tested it on, Rogue Lords, got 20 saves in 8 mins played. But I have to try it on different games that doesn't save as often...great to bypass Steam and Ubi's totalitarian approach. Thank you!

Thank you for the feedback. Is it the savegame limit (20 by default) you worry about? Or is it the audio feedback that is plays too often? Or did you just mentioned it without its being a real problem?

The limit isn't important as the latest save is if auto renewed in the list of 20 who could have been truncated before the real last save. The audio feedback can be annoying because of the frequency of the cloud saves, but it only occurred on this particular game...more tests need to be done with different tittles.
