If you click on the little Cog/Sprocket looking icon on the top right (brings up settings), then simply uncheck the Automatically download trainer updates in background box. I also checked the: Receive early TM versions box as well like PWizard mentioned That being said - I love how it just updated all the trainers I have. That and if you want a specific version of a trainer, doesn't the site still keep older versions still - so you can just redownload it if you're after a specific version?

All trainer versions are accessible via site or TM.

Short note to respond to the person who reacted to my post.

The fact that there is no answer is not to be seen as a non consideration, I have often had to deal with support outside the forum for bugs on trainers and they have always looked for the origin of the concern and proposed solutions.

I posted this case here for informational purposes only. There is a part where I express my incomprehension or we probably feel my frustration at not being able to use it but in my head I said to myself that this would be corrected sooner or later.

What mainly played in my frustration, it is some third attempt to propose solutions which are not viable and which can cause much more serious problem, one does not play with the rights NTFS to make work a program.

My post wanted to be as detailed as possible so that if similar cases were found people could base themselves on it and add additional info.

    Quickly Summary of Info:
    - Windows 10 20H2 (19042.906)
    - User account linked to a Microsoft account (users become authentificated users)
    - Works on a newly created folder still named "new folder"
    - The slightest actions from the user account on this folder created by the system, cause the error again (so the program does not accept a folder with administrator rights or authenticated users)

Even though I have looked at certain solutions given, or procedure to apply, it does not work. Even with a secondary disk with the account as owner and also a disk where there is no "Read only: This only applies to files in folders" checked, it just doesn't work, always the same error .

I've tried to reproduce but I cannot. No matter if its just D:\ or D:\a or D:\a\b the trainer manager starts without a problem. We added the readonly check after we received error reports about trainer is unable to save settings file / update itself / Webview2 is unable to create/write to the cache folder because its readonly.

You are right, the folder is partly readonly (because a few files are marked as readonly) but this itself won't raise the readonly message. Only if the folder is really readonly it will do. It will also raise the readonly message if the folder is not readonly but the user account level the TM runs under doesn't have permission to write to it.

Can you try the latest version? It now prints the full path to the TM folder when its readonly and I'm curious if its really the TM and not a completely different folder.

What errors are these? (screenshots in zip file). Worked great when opened...until I logged in account to look at trainers, it updated something, said it was restarting, then these errors upon restarting. I have to exit from taskbar or the popups will never end. I have not deleted trainer folder as of yet to re-download and see if it would happen again.
    -----------------------

Never seen those yet, 0x90 would know though. Submit those with a support ticket so he gets them. Let it restart in default and add the trainer folders after it is done.
    ------------------------------
I do not see where to upload screenshots or files through support ticket window. Also to clarify, I have not deleted trainer "manager" folder to re-download the TM. Screenshots here: Link

Wipe all existing trainer manager folders and data, get a fresh copy and try again, install it to it's own new folder with exclusions from any security software. Let it setup with default settings then add your trainer folders via the settings cog wheel.

I have the Yakuza 6 trainer extracted to folder but will not show installed after I hit the get steam games button.
I had this problem with last version and current version. Verify Trainer List completes but doesn't update the list. Even if I click the steam button deselect them all and click ok, there is no change. I also have like a dozen Mass Effect 3 games at the bottom of the steam list. I have attached screenshots of both.
