You're not alone, my game crashes too when trying to activate the game and it gives this log:

We get a Patch today. should be the reason.

Please use the update notification system to report a game patch, update or to report that the trainer may not be working with the latest version of the game. If 3 or more reports have been filed, consider BOOSTING the priority of this title for a faster turnaround on the updated trainer.

Just to ask a quick question, sorry it it is obvious. Does the Steam version work with GOG bought versions of the game? I know it's being updated at the moment, I am just asking generally.

Hi guys.... this perpetually never fixed broken endlessly patching dog of a game is already patched 4 times in 24 hours. I am not sure I am going to immediately jump in on this right now, because I'll spend hours on it only for it to be broken yet again in 2-3 hours by their updates. This game has been ON HOLD many many times for this reason.

This developer frankly is garbage. They release broken code and games without any real quality control or testing, and they do this continuously because nobody seems to care. In fact you PAID to be able to do the work for them and be the bug reporters.

We don't have that kind of time, and I didn't pay them to release broken code.

It's on the list, but realize the environment that this game is in..

No ETA, but wanted to inform you so you understand where we are with this title. I know it's been boosted, but realize that even with that, it's a disastrous title to work with and we have plenty more things that need attention here and this title can't be tying up all of our time if it's just going to patch over and over while they figure out how to program and release a game. You would think after all this time, they could put out a DLC without all of this, but it just goes to show you how little the developers care or how little they put into the process and seriousness of putting out content for people to purchase. They are still in week one, early access, "kickstarter" mentality...

Got a email notification of trainer update (3 hours ago). Tested it just now and it seems to work.

This game is a very small dev team and because it's PC, I suspect the devs use that to hotfix after updates often with community feedback streaming in since it's DnD SRD based (there are still a list of known issues that I expect they will fix). It's probably not a good idea to update its trainer near DLC release and to give this game a grace period, sucks for us but it is the way it is. DLC are far apart, so probably 2 weeks to a month until the devs stabilize their build and are working on the next DLC rather than hotfixes post-DLC launch. Trainer users will just have to play without a trainer for that grace period.
