Tried that, he seems to just sort of hang about in the middle of the corridor, where he is either shot or blown up the the grunt bombs. Why I was checking for the invincible NPC's so he can at least survive them

just finished the level on laso, got to that part and did the usual but with insta kill on and sprayed n prayed and backed off so the door closed while they all blew up, i guess i got lucky..

God that mission was horrible, for now there is no way to make him invincible, so here's what I did that eventually worked:

Get an AR and turn on super damage with no reload and inf ammo. Rush it, be the first on to open the door and just spray down everything. Stay somewhat at a distance afterwards and disable super damage and let the grunts explode, keys and the marines wont usually move up until you do.

Repeat this spray and pray process disabing super damage every time your not in conflict and enabling it before you unload on the enemies. Try to remember enemy positions as well.

Finally when you get to the long corridor that leads to the room with the 3 sword elites, kill the marines and spare keyes. He will go hostile, then enter the room and a glitch will happen that completes the mission there.

It will take a couple tries, (took me 3). Just gotta slowly work your way up and abuse the hell out of the checkpoint glitch for laso. If you do use the checkpoint glitch(save and exkt option in menu on death) then do alt+f4 afterwards and restart the game and re-enable the trainer and cheat so that the cheats work again when you continue the playlist. It will start you from the last checkpoint insyead of the beginning of the level, an easy way to get around the iron skull effects. Hope this helps.

Ok, here's what I learned. If you have the latest version installed including CE Anniversary, but you are NOT playing Halo: CE Anniversary, don't use the CE Trainer, use the OLD just Reach version of the trainer. I am on XBOX Games Pass and ran the appropriate shortcut and it worked fine. Once I went back to the Reach ONLY trainer, which I fortunately had a backup of.

13:04:02: Collect Player, Script error in line 12: The module name 'halo1.dll' does not exist!


This means you have not installed Halo CE either through the MCC dashboard or Steam's DLC section (Manage My DLC). Can't train a game if it's not even there.

i think the game has a bug. i don't know if it is related to the trainer.
There is the mission where I have to protect the captain.
1 shot and the captain is dead. Always the same.

I think the savegame is broken. I restarted the game and the level and have the same problem again.

Do you have super damage enabled?
That will cause your allies to normally die in 1-3 hits, usually just 1 though. Also if you are on legendary difficulty then even without super damage Keyes and allies will still die very quickly, nearly 1 hit.

I installed the current trainer today. Installed the MCClauncher.exe into the MCC folder and made a backup of the original MCC file. I launched the trainer as Admin and pointed it to the mcclauncher.exe I copied and launched the game from the trainer. I alt+tab'ed out and hit F1 and this is what I get "18:35:06: HALO CE Anniversary, 03-03-2020 (STEAM/WINDOWSSTORE/XBOXGAMEPASS)
18:45:22: Successfully attached to MCC-Win64-Shipping

I played about an hour and then closed everything down including virus software and rebooted and tried again. This time it wouldn't launch from the trainer, so I launched from Steam. Alt+tab'ed out and hit F1 and got the same error. Am I doing something wrong? Any suggestions would be great at this point. Oh, I started with Reach and want to play through them all.
