Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition Message Board  STATUS: ON HOLD - This game is currently patching very frequently and/or is early access with few downloads. It is counter-productive to continue updating the trainer under these circumstances. When the title becomes more stable and/or is out of early access, it will be re-evaluated for an updated trainer. Trainer updates for this game may still be released intermittently while in this status depending on our current workload.

Our Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition Trainer is now available for version 14119902 / 101.102.46236.0 and supports STEAM, WINDOWS STORE. Our Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition message board is available to provide feedback on our trainers or cheats.

Thank you again Devil for all your work on this. I understand and accept that I'm just out of luck. Hopefully most people have better luck.

Interesting, Yaron, that you can get so far as to load a map, using the updated instructions. For me, whether I try it in game or in the main menu, I crash as soon as I activate the cheat system. I've tried countless times, doing countless things. (But yes, running everything as admin.) Tried on three PCs now. I wonder what is different for you, and others, versus me, that makes it so that I am so consistently slapped down every single time I activate cheat system. That is the one thing that doesn't change, no matter what else I change.

Just throwing a random suggestion/hunch out for those at their wit's end but maybe try playing in steam offline mode. Even though you are not playing multiplayer, the game will still connect to MS's multiplayer service if the game starts with steam in online mode. So it might result in certain behaviours in the game

Also, make sure you are not playing with mods either. CH trainers are not created with mods in mind.

I actually had tried playing with Steam in offline mode, with no change, but I certainly do appreciate the thought. I don't use mods, either, on this or any other game (at least not in the past decade). I'll likely keep every once in a while to see if something has changed.

The one thing I've been wondering is whether having the expansion might trigger different behaviors. I do have it. I think I recall at least one other Age of Empires game for which you needed a separate trainer if you had the expansion, but I'm not certain at this point.

Is there any way to play the game WITHOUT the expansion once you have purchased it? That is usually the problem we run into.

The usual way to remove the expansion for games on steam would be to untick (either via right click properties or from the dlc panel when you select the game in the library) the corresponding dlc for the game in the steam library. That uninstalls the dlc files. Better still, uninstall the game, untick the dlc then reinstall the base game again just in case steam leaves remnants of the dlc in the existing installation.

    Hi there!

I am currently running into a problem - can't even activate the trainer, it gives me this message:

    16:25:45: Successfully attached to AoE2DE_s
16:25:46: Hook NtThreadContext, Script error in line 16: This instruction can''t be compiled: call ntdll.NtGetContextThread

Am I doing something wrong? And is there a way to surpass this problem?

Yeah, both Aurora and the game. I also disabled all the security apps. I'll try to run it on my laptop tomorrow when I get to it, to see if the problem persists.
