If you are having issues it helps to post actual PC specs, including GPU and CPU temps in the game (different apps/games stress a system in different ways) and OS and driver version, and any pertinent logs.

People saying "I have a 4k pc so it's not a hardware problem" is the same as saying "I have a 4k bread oven but my bread keeps burning"....because they have no idea what they are doing, have the oven running too hot, are trying to cook an entire cow in it whilst also expecting perfect bread, and leaving all that in there for 10 days.

    PEBKAC is a real thing.

I have this too, seems to be if you install to HDD instead of SSD the precaching freezes the CPU at 100% for 5-15 second every few minutes. Annoying, and widespread, hopefully a patch is in the works. They ****ed this release pretty hard, with all that time the bugs at launch are way too widespread and systemic compared to how smoothly most R* PC releases go.

For people crashing using the launcher, try this. Taken from the R* site.

    Run RDR2.exe as an administrator

    Open the Rockstar Games Launcher
    Select Settings
Select Red Dead Redemption 2 under My installed games
Select Open under View Installation Folder
    Right-Click on RDR2
    Select Properties
    Under the Compatibility Tab
Select Run this Program as an Administrator and Disable Full Screen Optimization
    Click OK
Return to the Games Menu in the Rockstar Games Launcher
    Launch the game

You also gotta run the launcher as admin before hand. Switching the game to Windowed Full-screen eliminates a lot of lag.

Any chance of a teleport to waypoint? That would be amazing!

I guess I am one of the lucky ones so far, the game runs amazingly!

Game runs amazing on my GTX 1080ti, only lag really when making sharp turns. (Not sure why, seems like a stutter) -- Nvidia doesn't seem to have the optimazation options as of yet but think they are waiting for the game to settle on it's patches.

Looking forward to seeing the trainer, Thanks CH Team

not sure how related people can be with this, but in the mist of my neverending work that needs me to update windows, I didn't realize Update 1903 is not done yet for my gaming pc. I kept crashing out of the launcher. Did the update, turned off the compatibility fix and the game booted right up.
