Rockstar Games Launcher has massive amounts of issue with the launch of the game.

Not on my end, it's working perfect. Most likely due to people not knowing how to keep bios and other things up to date.

Or, y'know, different specs having different problems

I have no avast and no avira Game is starting and I can play it, but there are some 5 second freezes sometimes.

Yeah, I've had some hitching and stuttering as well, and i got a $4k PC. So something is not right with the optimization.

I'm glad my only issue was solved by simply logging out and back in on the R* launcher.

This game looks insanely good at around 70-90fps at the start. Really making me want to upgrade to a 2080ti earlier and retire my 1080 to the HTPC.

Oof, as I typed this I was alt tabbed and the game crashed. Seems it dislikes not being the focus of things.

I am a bit perplexed at how with a 2080 ti settings aren't maxed out by automatic detection of the first boot. I will say 4k ultra settings will make your 2080ti cry, maybe go full settings at 1440p with other features unlocked.

But so far, it has been smooth gameplay.

NVIDIA suggests a slightly higher than 1440p resolution and then upscaling with their tools to 4K for max settings 2080 ti.

But, I am enjoying 4K max settings 2000 MHz 2080 Ti with all aliasing turned off except FXAA. Stays between 40-60 FPS for my Samsung OLED.

For people crashing using the launcher, try this. Taken from the R* site.

    Run RDR2.exe as an administrator

    Open the Rockstar Games Launcher
    Select Settings
Select Red Dead Redemption 2 under My installed games
Select Open under View Installation Folder
    Right-Click on RDR2
    Select Properties
    Under the Compatibility Tab
Select Run this Program as an Administrator and Disable Full Screen Optimization
    Click OK
Return to the Games Menu in the Rockstar Games Launcher
    Launch the game

You also gotta run the launcher as admin before hand. Switching the game to Windowed Full-screen eliminates a lot of lag.

I remember buying a XB1 X for this game when it was released. Booked 3 days of work and played it non stop. When I finished the game, I wished there would be a Infinite Health cheat - I don't care about any other cheats!

Can't wait, once again CH provides an outstanding service & has done for as far back as I can remember now.
