My Windows 10 is the latest and trainers are working fine here. But I also recently ran sfc /scannow which found corrupted files and repaired it. It was because I had a temporarily windows scan fix installed as it was broken by a previous windows update.
So what I recommend is:
1. Open command prompt as admin
2. Run "sfc /scannow" without quotes
3. Run "DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth" without quotes
3. Run "DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth" without quotes
4. Run "DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth" without quotes
5. Re-run "sfc /scannow/ without quotes.
Thanks, 0x90 for the repair options, in my case scannow found some errors, and after your "repair" options, scannow didn't find errors anymore.
However the trainer still didn't start, in my case it was the latest version of rivatuner 7.1.2,that stopped the trainer from working, which has custom direct3d support greyed out. so i downloaded 7.1.0, which still has custom direct3d support working ,and now the trainer starts normally, with afterburner and rivatuner, and also tested it with borderlands 3 and that also works no problem.
